
UNILAG Unifies Faculty, Departmental Dues
Unlike before, University of Lagos, UNILAG, has given room for elected executives to collect faculty and departmental dues. Also, the institution has unified the dues for all departments and faculties, allowing transparency and fairness to standardize this new system. YOMSDIRECT reports.
A Meeting was held on August, 30 and September 1, 2023 to ascertain this new development. The university in a released statement on Sunday, September 17, 2023 revealed the outcome. The statement wrote:

COLLECTION OF FEES FROM FACULTIES/DEPARTMENTS AND STUDENT ASSOCIATIONS/BODIES
The Committee of Provost and Deans at its meetings of August 30, 2023 and September 1, 2023 deliberated extensively on fees collecteUd by Faculty/Departments and Students Associations/Bodies and noted the disparity in fee collections.
UNILAG Reduces Hiked Fees, Agrees To Reinstate SUG, Sets New Modalities Of Payment
In the light of the above, the Committee of Provost and Deans resolved that all fees should be standardized for fairness and transparency. The Committee, therefore, decided as presented in Table I below:

In addition, the Committee also resolved that:

All payments must be receipted. The Dean, Students’ Affairs should convene a meeting with the students
representatives/Faculty Presidents on the amount to be collected as student Association fees.
The student body should collect the agreed fees by themselves at designated

Registration Centres. All excess monies already received from students as Faculty/Departmental dues should be refunded to the concerned students.
In view of the above, you are requested to kindly ensure that the decisions of Provost and Deans is promptly implemented.”
