ASUU fixes date to begin strike action if FG fails agreement

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has hinted of the possibility of another industrial action by the end of this month.

The union said should the federal government fail to sign a draft renegotiated agreement of May 2021, the members will be left with no option other than industrial action.

ASUU national president, Emmanuel Osodeke stated this over the weekend in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital at the union national executive council meeting.

He said the government should be held responsible for the possible industrial disharmony.

Emmanuel said the union hopes the government will urgently sign the agreement to sustain and improve the current industrial peace on the university campuses.
